Song Titles and See you all on Sunday!

April Showers!

I'm reminded of a couple of song titles as I contemplate the coming weekend and planned trip on the Exe.... The first is 'Don't Worry, Be Happy', the second is 'Stormy Weather', but the first prevails.......

We are seasoned planners here at d'Accord! and our wonderful team have planned for every eventuality, so the message is....

Turn up at Exmouth Docks, Stuart Lines ( EX8 1DS) between 10am and 10.30. We are all set for a great day that will involve birds, music, dancing, The Exe and a glorious buffet lunch!

Wow! WHAT a night we had with LUCAS THEBAUT and POISSON ROUGE

Blissful dancing, excellent teaching, exciting music.... what more could one want for a Friday night? And there's MORE of it today and tomorrow!

If you missed seeing LUCAS THEBAUT last night in Exeter, where he shared an evening of sublime music and dancing with POISSON ROUGE - get yourselves down to FRENCH DANCE STROUD in Horsley today where Lucas will be teaching and playing with DEUX SANS FRONTIERES this afternoon and evening.

Or get yourselves to the Euro session at Oxford Folk Festival tomorrow, or to PRIMROSE HILL later in the day!

See the new car-share group on fb if you are travelling a long way.

All thanks to Will Lawrence and Chloe for bringing Lucas over here. For details of the remainder of the tour, visit the Horsley French Dance Stroud website.

Happy Dancing

'Les Sonneurs' (mostly) French Music Session at Topsham

A (mostly) French and Breton music session is starting this month near Exeter.

Mike Long has told d'Accord! that 'Les Sonneurs' music session will be starting at the Bridge Inn, Topsham on Friday 30th March, at 8pm.

This is a friendly and inclusive session so, as Mike says:
"now is the time to get those instruments out and start practicing.. We will concentrate on playing French music but feel free to play the tunes that you are more familiar with...."

Good news indeed.

Folk Comes to Town

26 different bagpipes in one region - and on one table! We were lucky enough to hear the wonderful Duo Matta Rouch playing quite a few of them (not all at once) here, in Devon.

We really are very blessed down here in the west country - so much brilliant music - so many talented musicians and such choice. Thanks to David Faulkner and Wren for putting on such a good event, and thanks to the Eelgrinders, who really were on form!

We are looking forward now to April 20 when Lucas Thebaud hits Ide. Lucas is bringing us new dances and  mesmerising music. Dances will include some of these

Avant-Deux
Maraichines
Marchoises
Pas d'ete
Bal Limousine
Gatinelles

See our Calendar Page for details
